Rust

A reddish brown tinge to metal that has been exposed to water or vapour.

A tube of material in which to feed liquid or air.

Wave

A disturbance on a body of matter in the form of a ridge or swell. Also a hand gesture to motion a greeting or indeed a period or spell of unusually hot or cold weather. Wave is everywhere, where is yours?

This was an ideal prompt for me, as I have spent the last 5 weeks by the sea. I took this on Runkerry Strand yesterday.

On a Sunday, at HS:MS we are encouraged to show off some of our favourite photos.

Here are 2 from yesterday and today - I couldn't choose, so you get both!

The first was taken at Dunsevrick Harbour, Co Antrim, last night.

This was this morning, a walk after a heavy rain shower in Portrush, Co Antrim. If there is a puddle, my son will find it!

On holidays now near the sea, so expect a seaside theme to most of my upcoming photos.

Was it just me, or did anyone else feel like they were back at school in art class, arranging a bowl of fruit for Still Life Drawing?

Took my son to a friend's farm, and we collected fresh eggs from the hen house. Now he knows they don't all come clean in a box from Tesco's!

I am just in from the garden with my son - we found bees, a ladybird and a huge snail doing a poo! (Deep joy for a 3 year old boy!). Of course I took some photos, and snapped his fringe too.

Creep

This is a bit of a cheat, as I took this photo a few months ago -it is an abandoned greenhouse in the grounds of Castlewellan Castle, Co Down, N Ireland.

I have always been fascinated by the letters and cards in an old tin box which belonged to my grandmother. The memories and stories inside all but forgotten. There are post cards, sympathy cards, practical letters from solicitors, chatty letters to relatives, even letters from children.

A coolness in the air, a reduction in temperature, the onset of a cold or just plain chillin' out!

Had to make do with my Point and Shoot camera for this - my chill today is some defrosting raspberries.



I plan to enjoy these later.

Cup..and The Giants Causeway
